Seoul Haru Terms of Use
Article 1. Purpose and application
These Terms set out the basic matters between Seoul Haru and its users concerning the use of Seoul Haru's information service for the Seoul area.
These Terms apply from the time they are posted on Seoul Haru, and govern your use of the service.
Article 2. Service content
Using public data from authorities including the Seoul Metropolitan Government and place information compiled by Seoul Haru, the service provides:
- Crowding and estimated population information for major Seoul places
- Information on Seoul's hidden gems
- Place search, filters and recommendations
- Information on nearby restaurants, cafes and attractions
- Cultural event and traffic information
- Distance calculations using your current location
- Map display and links to external map services
Specific features may be changed or added during operation.
Article 3. Information accuracy and recommendations
Crowding, estimated population, traffic and event information is based on information from external providers, including the Seoul Metropolitan Government.
Public-data update timing, collection and aggregation methods, and network delays may cause displayed information to differ from conditions on site. Even information labeled live may lag according to the source provider's update cycle.
Place recommendations use information available to the service, including distance, time of day, place characteristics and public data.
Information about restaurants, cafes, attractions, business names, addresses and operating status may differ from actual conditions.
Information and recommendations are reference material to assist visit and travel planning. They do not guarantee a place's safety or availability, a business's quality or actual on-site conditions.
Article 4. Location features and external services
Current-location features are available only when you grant location permission in your browser or device.
Location is used to calculate distances, sort places by distance and display your position on the map. You may deny or withdraw permission at any time in browser or device settings.
The processing of precise location information is explained separately in the Seoul Haru Privacy Policy.
Seoul Haru may provide connections to external services including OpenFreeMap, OpenStreetMap, Naver Map and Kakao Map.
When your browser connects directly to an external map service or you move to its page, that provider's terms and privacy policy apply.
Seoul Haru does not directly control external services' operation, policies, information or content.
Article 5. User obligations
You must use the service in accordance with applicable law and these Terms.
You must not:
- Intentionally interfere with normal service operation
- Generate abnormal volumes of requests that excessively burden the server
- Collect service content or data by automated means without authorization
- Attempt to bypass access controls or security features
- Infringe the rights of Seoul Haru or third parties
- Otherwise violate applicable law
Seoul Haru may restrict abnormal requests to protect stability and security.
Article 6. Changes and interruptions
Some or all of the service may be changed or temporarily interrupted for reasons including:
- System inspections and maintenance
- Server or network failures
- Interruption of external APIs or public-data provision
- Failures of map or other external services
- Service improvements and feature changes
- Operational circumstances making continued provision difficult
- Natural disasters or other circumstances beyond reasonable control
Planned significant changes or termination will be announced in advance through the service to the extent reasonably practicable. Notice may follow the event where advance notice is difficult, such as urgent failures, security issues or sudden interruption of external services.
Article 7. Intellectual property, public data and advertising
Rights in public data belong to the relevant provider or rightful owner. Seoul Haru follows each dataset's usage and attribution conditions.
Rights in service structure, design, wording and content independently created by Seoul Haru belong to Seoul Haru or the relevant rights holder to the extent permitted by law.
Seoul Haru may provide advertising or affiliate content to support operation. Where such content could be confused with ordinary place recommendations or service information, it will be labeled so users can distinguish it.
Seoul Haru does not use precise GPS locations for advertising targeting. Any changes to information processing caused by introducing advertising will be announced in the Privacy Policy before application.
Article 8. Responsibility and privacy
Displayed crowding, population estimates, business, event and traffic information may differ from actual conditions. For important decisions, also check current information from the relevant authority or business.
The service may not operate normally due to circumstances beyond Seoul Haru's reasonable control, including public-data errors, delays or interruptions, external-service or communication failures, and natural disasters.
If you make a final visit or travel decision based on reference information provided by the service, responsibility for that decision and its outcome rests with you.
The processing of your personal information is governed by the Seoul Haru Privacy Policy.
Article 9. Changes and inquiries
Seoul Haru may amend these Terms as necessary for changes in applicable law or service operation.
Significant amendments and their effective date will be announced through the service before application.
